Made to Measure Curtains - Measuring Curtains Guide

Measuring for Curtains on a Rail:

A. Measuring the Width:

Measure the full width of the rail you are using Excluding Finials.  We also recommend you add an extra 2.5cm as this allows for the hanging of the curtains to over lap in the middle once closed.

B. Measuring the Drop:

Check the rail is even?  To be sure take 3 measurements in the middle of the rail and at either end.

Decide whether you want your curtains to finish, just below the window or full length to floor.  We suggest that you allow 1 centimetre clearance above the carpet.

Measuring for Curtains on a Pole:

A. Measuring the Width:

Measure the full width of the rail you are using Excluding Finials.  We also recommend you add an extra 2.5cm as this allows for the hanging of the curtains to over lap in the middle once closed.

For Pencil Pleat, Triple Pleat and Goblet Top measure the drop from the eye (the small metal ring at the bottom of the curtain ring) this will prevent the curtain obscuring the pole or rings.

B. Measuring the Drop:

Check the Pole is even?  To be sure take 3 measurements in the middle of the rail and at either end.

Decide whether you want your curtains to finish, just below the window or full length to floor.  We suggest that you allow 1 centimetre clearance above the carpet.
